could be the ABC; chairs lined up, in a redundant melancholy fashion, as we have a marketplace distorting mirror to the reality which is the ruins of Cains BreweryIMG_5684.JPG

  1. Portals are endlessly fascinating. When doorways become portals (especially the ones that give a sense of being closed forever, as you pick up on here), there is the uncanny; when we perceive portals as doorways there is (excuse me) an opening, an opening up, an opening onto something other, an opening onto somewhere new or – well, we don’t know. The last one (before your portrait, that is – an actual Biennial exhibit?) is horrible: the portal/doorway as coffin lid, and so an opening onto… Doesn’t bear thinking about it.

  2. whoah,Wolflin, I had not perceived that re coffin portal!Very insightful; see u tomorrow, to see if we enter some (less scary !) portals; ps portals and uncanny: might tease out more links there 🙂 x
